[The Roma film festival](https://www.tukino.cz/?ref=alicekoubova.cz) Tukino returns in 2026, in its third year, to its three-day format. The motto of this year's festival is "Film as a tool of understanding." Over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday it will once again bring to Brno the best work of Roma filmmakers, this time with a focus on creators from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Germany and Great Britain.

The debate **The potential and limits of reconciliation in the political climate of the 21st century / Who has the right to forgive?** will take place from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at the Televizní institut Brno

Can a society reconcile itself with the past if individuals still bear its consequences? Public gestures of reconciliation and efforts to overcome historical conflicts may come up against individual experience of racism, violence, persecution or loss, which need not be in accord with society's needs. The discussion following the film *That Boy* will ask whether social and personal reconciliation can be separated, who has the right to forgive – and whether a truly resilient society does not in fact arise precisely from the ability to listen also to the voices and emotions of those whose experience remains on the margins of public debate. The limits of forgiveness, memory, reconciliation and social resilience will be discussed from various perspectives by **Stano Daniel, Fedor Gál and Alice Koubová**.
