In 1978 Václav Havel wrote his seminal text Moc bezmocných. What can we take from it for today? How do the "powerless" organise themselves at present? Why do they no longer form large ideological blocs as they did in the twentieth century? Does Havel's then notion of "post-democracy", in which people instead organise around specific tasks such as cleaning up a forest or fighting against a developer's construction project, work in practice today? How great, in fact, is the "power of the powerless" in contemporary society?
