Alice Koubová is Senior Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy, Czech Academy of Sciences and Associate Professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. Her main research interests range from resilience thinking and performance to relational ethics and artistic research. In her academic practice she combines basic and applied research, dramaturgical and performance practice and cooperation with public institutions. She initiated the multidisciplinary research project Resilient Society for the 21st Century as well as a team focused on societal resilience within the Systemic Risk Institute. She also leads the Czech pilot of the Horizon project INSPIRE, which focuses on strengthening democratic resilience in communities through arts-based and participatory methods. She authored Terény performance (NAMU), Play and Democracy (Routledge), Self-Identity and Powerlessness (Brill), Donald Winnicott a politická teorie (Filosofia), Myslet z druhého místa (NAMU), Artistic Research – Is There Some Method? (NAMU) and other books and articles on identity, performance, ethics, and artistic research.

Alice Koubová is a senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences and an associate professor at the Academy of Performing Arts. She is also an author and a performer with the Tantehorse Theatre Company and she leads a pilot project examining the potential of art-based methods in societal resilience research. Her publications cover identity, resilience, performativity, relational ethics, political emotions, and artistic research. Her theatre work addresses the socio-political double binds in contemporary society. She regularly discusses philosophical topics in the media, journals, and podcast series.
