In April 2023, a group of doctoral students from AVU, together with several teachers and the school's management, took part in one of the largest international conferences on artistic research.

Held under the title Too Early – Too Late in Trondheim, Norway, the conference was organised by the Society for Artistic Research. During the stay, an audio documentary was created which oscillates between documentary reportage and reflection on artistic research as such, critically examining the language of the artistic research community, its local as well as transnational dimension. It is a report on how we think about artistic research, its challenges, its weaknesses, and the moments when it is an exceptionally suitable form for grasping something that other, conventional research discourses cannot grasp, or can grasp only with difficulty.
